Our Story
Farin didn't start as a startup idea. It started as a bakery's internal tooling — because nothing off the shelf worked the way a real food business actually works or it was way too expensive for small operations.
Buttered Up Bakery is a very small wholesale & retail bakery in Phoenix, AZ. Like most, we're running our operation across a patchwork of spreadsheets, separate apps, and manual workarounds — none of which talked to each other.
Connor, who runs the bakery, needed a real system. Steven, the founder and a tech enthusiast, started building one. What began as internal tooling for scheduling, production, and accounting slowly became a full platform — one that understood the actual rhythms of a food business.
After years of running it in production, we decided to open Farin up to other small and medium food producers, bakeries, and restaurants who are facing the same problem. You shouldn't need a dozen tools to run one kitchen.

Builder & Developer
Steven designed and built Farin from the ground up — everything from the database schema and API to the kitchen display and mobile-first UI. He keeps the platform running, ships new features, and eats too many of Connor's croissants.

Connor runs Buttered Up Bakery and is Farin's first, and most demanding, user. Every feature in the platform has been stress-tested against real production days, real wholesale orders, and real payroll runs. If it doesn't work for Connor, it doesn't ship.
